The Worm and the Prophet
This message came to me between 3am and 6am and it was the voice of God saying write about the Worm and Prophet.
The Worm and the Prophet can be found as part of a Bible story about a prophet who was told to go and warn a big City and all it's residents, that their City was about to be wiped out by an impending disaster.
The impending disaster was a judgment because the people were living day to day in sinful behavior and evil practices. Jonah the Prophet went to the City following a dream to tell the people that they must repent and turn away from their sinful and evil practices. This was a brave thing to do because he could easily have been arrested with the fullest possibility of being jailed or something much worse. Amazingly the whole city became greatly concerned about what Jonah was saying and street by street they all started seeking God in great remorse from the King to the average person in the streets. The story tells us that God heard the peoples prayers and cry of repentance, and because God is full of mercy and compassion, the impending disaster was withheld and the city was saved from destruction.
After Jonah had announced his message to the whole city, he sat down at a distance to watch what happened next. He waited but nothing happened, so he cried out to God complaining that the whole mission had been one big waste of time and effort.
Jonah did not properly understand the bigger picture about how God expects people to live. A worm was used to show Jonah how much God cared about the people in this Great city as he cares about every living person. Jonah had to understand that his efforts of warning the Great City had been critical in saving hundreds of thousands of peoples from the impending destruction heading in their direction. The following extract is taken from the Bible telling how the worm featured in the story of Jonah:
onah the Prophet went out and sat to the east of the city and made a booth for himself there. He sat under it in the shade, until he should see what would become of the city.
Now the LORD God appointed a plant and made it come up over Jonah, so that it might be a shade over his head, to save him from the heat of the Sun. Jonah was exceedingly glad because of the plant. But when dawn came up the next day, God appointed a worm that attacked the plant, so that it withered.
When the sun rose, God made a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah's head so that he was faint. Jonah became annoyed and asked God that he might die and said, “It is better for me to die than to live.” but God said to Jonah, “Are you angry for the plant?” And he replied, “Yes, I am well angry, angry enough to die.” and the LORD God said, “Do you pity the plant, for which you did not labour, nor did you make it grow, which came into being in a night and perished in a night. And should not I pity that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know their right hand from their left?”
The message about the Worm and the Prophet tells us that we don't always know the direction we are heading and the things we are doing could land us in big trouble unless we turn around and change both our life's direction and our ways. The Bible tells us that God wants everybody to have eternal life but unless we ask God to forgive our sins, we will not go to heaven. This may sound a bit disturbing but God told me to write this message for all people from all nations telling that Jesus is soon returning and to warn everyone that it is now time to repent and to ask Jesus Christ to forgive them. If we take notice of this message and follow the actions that the people did in the Great City, God WILL show mercy and spare us from judgment and Eternal destruction. The Worm is a reminder that we should never rest in our own abilities because our situation and circumstances can change overnight and no amount of wealth or things can save us or give an eternal future. This is the meaning of the Worm and the Prophet so act NOW and turn away from all sinful practices before it's too late.
This is a message for those who have ears to listen.
